How to properly maintain and solve faults in metering pumps
1¡¢ How to replace the diaphragm of the metering pump?
1. Remove the 4 screws that secure the pump head. The screw is located on the back of the metering pump.
2. After the pump head is loose, adjust the stroke length to 0% before removing the pump head. It can ensure that the electromagnetic shaft has sufficient pressure to maintain a stable connection, so that the diaphragm can be unscrewed.
3. Pull the hydraulic end outward to detach the screw from the socket. Grasp the liquid end and rotate counterclockwise. If there is a slight resistance, you can unscrew the diaphragm.
Once the diaphragm is removed, check the safety diaphragm of the metering pump to ensure that it is intact and undamaged. Install the new diaphragm and rotate the backplate and diaphragm clockwise until they are tightly attached. Adjust the back plate so that the leakage discharge hole is located at the bottom of the pump.
5. After the diaphragm installation is completed and the back plate leakage discharge hole is placed in a vertical position, install the pump head. Ensure that the suction valve is aligned with the leakage discharge hole, and the screws on the hydraulic end are aligned with the corresponding 4 holes.
6. Rotate to the 100% stroke length position. This can rotate the entire set of components until the back plate leakage discharge hole aligns with the bottom end of the pump. Adjust the hydraulic end and diaphragm to the proper position during the operation of the pump.
After adjusting the position of the hydraulic end and the back plate, tighten the four bolts diagonally until they are suitable. You should apply even force when completing this task.
2¡¢ I received a spare parts package and encountered trouble removing the old diaphragm. Can you provide some additional advice on how to remove the old diaphragm?
Move the hydraulic end by loosening the 4 pump head screws. Rotate the stroke length to 0% and grasp the hydraulic end, then slide out from the screw hole, so that the screws do not come into contact with them, but still hold the back plate and diaphragm. Then rotate this component counterclockwise, with a slight resistance, and the diaphragm will loosen from the electromagnetic shaft. If the diaphragm has not loosened yet, use some lubricating oil on the contact surface between the diaphragm and the electromagnetic shaft. After leaving it for a few minutes, gently tap the diaphragm with a plastic hammer. Then proceed again according to the above description.
3¡¢ When measuring hydrogen peroxide using self-priming method, air pockets are generated in the system. How to solve this problem?
The metering pump is equipped with a self exhaust pump head and adopts a self filling suction system. Keep the suction line as short as possible.
4¡¢ Does the metering pump not measure the medication after installation and operation? 1. Is a drain pipe installed and the drain valve closed? The discharge valve needs to be opened during the liquid introduction stage of the metering pump. Note: Not all metering pumps have drain valves.
2. There may be gas leakage at the suction end of the metering pump. The hydraulic end suction side connection may lack an O-ring or the suction valve connection may be loose.
3. The bottom valve of the metering pump may be blocked, and the measured liquid cannot pass through.
4. The stroke length setting of the metering pump is not appropriate.
5. The measured chemicals may crystallize at the hydraulic end, causing the one-way valve ball and seat to malfunction.
5¡¢ When using flow monitoring to measure a high viscosity medium, I received a flow fault indication signal during the liquid introduction process. What can I do to solve this problem?
For reaction time, the pulse duration may not be long enough. Compared to the standard pulse width of 80msec, the flow monitor pulse width extension can be activated, increasing the pulse width to 300msec. Activate the intelligent conversion switch, remove the protective cover of the fixed circuit board, and remove jumper X-1. This activates the extended function, allowing more time before the fault indication.
6¡¢ How to prevent the stroke positioning motor from burning out?
Ensure that the motor of the metering pump is always running when adjusting the stroke position. If the metering pump motor is not running, the stroke length adjustment rod must resist the tension of the compression spring, which can cause premature damage to the stroke positioning motor.
